Job Requirements

  • Food service certification required
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • ability to work under pressure
  • physically capable of lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and standing or walking for long periods
  • adherence to uniform policy
  • willingness to wear personal protective equipment when necessary

Job Duties

  • Follow a predetermined menu to prepare top-notch food and pastries
  • put together a daily report ensuring accuracy of transactions and meal planning
  • understand meal components to ensure their inclusion
  • store food correctly to prevent contamination and spoilage
  • deliver food to patrons as per scheduled meal times and regulations
  • apply and maintain culinary utensils with focus on blades
  • ensure timely preparation of food items and beverages
  • enhance meal presentation through garnishing
  • assist with sanitation of refrigeration units, freezers, cooking and serving devices
  • uphold food safety standards including hygiene, handling and storage
  • comply with established uniform policy
  • coordinate daily menu with manager
  • monitor food temperatures for storage and serving
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of work and storage areas
  • keep work areas clean and disinfected including steam tables, countertops and machinery
  • carry out general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping and dishwashing
  • collect garbage and maintain clean kitchen floors
  • fulfill additional duties as required including aiding different kitchen departments
