The Waiter position at Aramark plays a critical role in supporting the manager by engaging in food and meal preparation, monitoring cash receipts, and maintaining accurate meal records. This role involves assisting with daily report generation and ensuring adherence to food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards, making it a keystone position within the food service operation. The Waiter is responsible for following a predetermined menu to prepare high-quality food and pastries, understanding meal components to confirm their inclusion, and ensuring the proper storage of food to prevent contamination and spoilage. Maintaining food safety standards is paramount, including hygiene practices, handling procedures, and storage protocols. The Waiter must comply with the uniform policy and engage in daily menu coordination with the manager to properly plan the day’s offerings. Additional duties include monitoring food temperatures, keeping work and storage areas clean and organized, and upholding rigorous sanitation through cleaning and disinfecting workspaces, steam tables, countertops, and machinery. General cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dishwashing, and garbage collection are essential to maintaining hygiene and a safe working environment.
This physically demanding role requires the ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand or walk for extended periods. Wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhering to uniform guidelines are mandatory. The ideal candidate holds a Food Service Certification and possesses the ability to work effectively under pressure, understanding written and verbal instructions clearly. A high school diploma or equivalent education is preferred.
