Job Description
Hillside is a premier HumanGood senior living community located in McMinnville, Oregon. Hillside is currently seeking a talented and passionate Server to join their team. This position is essential to the day-to-day operations of the dining services at Hillside, playing a key role in delivering exceptional customer service to residents and guests. The Server position is part-time and offers a competitive pay rate starting at $17 per hour, with the final pay determined by experience. The role involves a variety of responsibilities including setup, clearing, cleaning, and resetting of the dining room, taking and accurately processing menu orders, and ensuring that meals are served promptly and courteously. Servers at Hillside are expected to provide a welcoming and gracious dining experience, helping residents feel valued and cared for during their meal times.
The server’s duties also include informing guests about menu items, describing ingredients and cooking methods, and making recommendations while highlighting daily specials. The ability to carry service trays correctly and work safely using personal protective equipment is essential. Beyond serving meals, the Server may also assist with bussing, running, meal plating, utility tasks, and catering duties as assigned. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. The schedule for this position is flexible and can be discussed during the interview process, with availability needed during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior customer service experience
- Prior food service or restaurant experience
- Food Handler's or ServSafe certification
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to carry service trays and perform physical aspects of the job
- Good communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties
- Greets residents and guests promptly as they arrive at their table
- Records accurate food and beverage orders and input into the POS system
- Explains how menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods
- Informs guests of daily specials, makes recommendations
- Carries service tray in correct placement of orders to facilitate service of food and beverages
- Works safely, consistently using designated safety equipment (personal protective equipment- PPE)
- Completes bussing, runner, meal plater, utility and catering duties as needed or assigned
- Refills beverages throughout the meal service
