The Wait Staff Tipped position at the Raleigh Convention Center is a full-time role offering a competitive pay range of $18.00 to $19.00 per hour. This role involves providing attentive, efficient, and professional service to guests by serving a variety of freshly prepared entrees, appetizers, desserts, and beverage items. Working as part of the Sodexo Live team, the Wait Staff will be the face of the dining experience, greeting and seating guests, presenting menus, introducing specials, and making knowledgeable meal and beverage recommendations. Precision and attentiveness are key, as this role requires accurately taking and relaying orders, monitoring guest needs, ensuring food quality and presentation, and handling any concerns with professionalism. The position requires physical stamina including the ability to walk or stand for extended periods, lift items up to 50 pounds occasionally, and perform repetitive motions during varying shifts with open availability preferred. The ideal candidate will be approachable and courteous, ensuring customer satisfaction through excellent service, keeping in line with the high standards and client requirements at Sodexo Live.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • 0 to 1 year related experience
  • If applicable, must meet minimum age to serve alcohol per local regulations
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions
  • Attend scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • 0 to 1 year related experience
  • Ability to work varying shifts with open availability preferred
  • Must comply with all local, state alcohol serving laws and training requirements
  • Possess or willing to obtain TIPS, TEAM, or equivalent alcohol-service certification

Job Duties
