The Moorings of Arlington Heights, one of Presbyterian Living's prestigious communities, is currently seeking a dynamic Waitstaff member to join their team. This role is integral in enhancing the daily dining experience for residents and guests, ensuring their meals are served promptly, correctly, and paired with exceptional customer service. As a Waitstaff member, the successful candidate will be responsible for effectively managing dining room operations including order taking, food and beverage service, and maintaining cleanliness standards. The position requires open availability on both weekdays and weekends to meet the varied dining schedules of the community.

This hourly position offers a competitive wage ranging from $17.51 to $24.46 per hour based on the candidate's years of experience. As part of the role, the Waitstaff will utilize tablets for order processing, maintain a deep understanding of the menu and dietary restrictions, and work closely with kitchen and service staff to deliver an outstanding dining service tailored to a senior living environment. Adherence to health and safety regulations, as well as Presbyterian Living's internal policies, is crucial to ensuring a safe and pleasant dining atmosphere. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in waitstaff or food service preferred
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Open availability on weekdays and weekends
  • Ability to follow health and safety guidelines

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Complete assigned tasks before, during, and after dining room operations including menu review and side jobs
  • Serve food and beverages in proper sequence
  • Utilize a tablet for accurate order taking
  • Maintain knowledge of meals offered and adhere to dietary modifications
  • Keep tables neat and clean, promptly remove soiled dishes and reset tables uniformly
  • Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors, addressing complaints or unsafe conditions
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures including Employee Handbook
  • Maintain proper food temperatures and apply basic sanitation standards
  • Accurately plate and serve meals according to ticket orders with attention to dietary needs in a healthcare setting
