As a Wait Staff member at Outback Steakhouse, you will be expected to greet guests warmly, take and deliver orders accurately and efficiently, and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the menu to confidently make recommendations and upsell items. Your responsibilities also include supporting the kitchen by assisting with food preparation and condiment assembly as needed, bussing tables, and collaborating with fellow team members to maintain smooth operations throughout the shift. Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and remain active for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 lbs
  • Comfortable working in hot and cold environments
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding restaurant setting
  • For California positions: Responsible Beverage Service certification required (training provided, completion within 60 days of hire)

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant setting is an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to memorize menu items and specials
  • Basic math skills for handling payments
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and responsible beverage service practices

Job Duties

  • Deliver exceptional hospitality by providing friendly, prompt, and attentive service tailored to each guest
  • Greet guests, take accurate food and beverage orders, and ensure timely delivery
  • Maintain strong knowledge of menu items to confidently recommend, upsell, and reinforce orders
  • Verify order accuracy and review orders with guests to ensure complete satisfaction
  • Assist with food preparation support and condiment assembly following Outback standards
  • Support team operations by bussing tables, delivering food and drinks, and maintaining dining areas
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards throughout the shift
