Outback Steakhouse, founded in March 1988, is a renowned Australian-themed restaurant chain known for its bold flavors, genuine hospitality, and warm, welcoming atmosphere. With a strong emphasis on respect, camaraderie, and a culture that values its employees—fondly called Outbackers—Outback Steakhouse has become a staple dining destination for guests seeking a satisfying and enjoyable meal experience. The brand takes immense pride in not only delivering high-quality food but also fostering a supportive and engaging work environment where every team member can thrive and grow professionally. As part of a larger network, Outback Steakhouse continues to invest in the growth and success of its employees, encouraging continuous learning and development while also committing to making a positive impact in the communities it serves.
The role of Wait Staff at Outback Steakhouse plays a crucial part in the guest experience, blending hospitality, teamwork, and fun to create memorable dining moments. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and possess a passion for delivering friendly, personalized service. Wait Staff are responsible for greeting guests warmly, taking accurate food and beverage orders, providing prompt and attentive service, and ensuring every guest feels valued from their first interaction through the final farewell. Outback Steakhouse's signature AUS-SOME service embodies the spirit of going above and beyond to exceed guest expectations, making this role both challenging and rewarding for those who thrive in dynamic hospitality settings.
In addition to customer service, the role includes collaboration with kitchen staff and fellow team members to maintain a clean and safe environment while supporting efficient restaurant operations. Wait Staff also contribute by assisting with food preparation support and condiment assembly, adhering strictly to Outback Steakhouse’s quality and safety standards. This position demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand, walk, bend, and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds in both hot and cold environments. For locations in California, new hires will be required to complete Responsible Beverage Service Certification within 60 days of employment, a training that is provided by the company.
Outback Steakhouse values work-life balance for its employees, providing competitive benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, life insurance, meal compensation benefits when eligible, and a unique company culture that includes days off on Thanksgiving and Christmas to allow team members to enjoy time with family and friends. Tip opportunities further enhance earning potential for dedicated and attentive team members. If you are passionate about hospitality and want to join a dedicated team where your friendly and approachable nature will shine, the Wait Staff position at Outback Steakhouse offers a fulfilling career path in the restaurant industry.
