The Server position at Zippy’s plays a crucial role in delivering the memorable dining experience that customers expect. As a Server, you are the face of the restaurant, responsible for greeting dine-in guests warmly and guiding them through their meal with attentiveness and care. You ensure timely and accurate order taking, efficient service of delicious food and drinks, and clear communication between guests and kitchen staff. Knowledge of the menu with the ability to describe dishes and answer inquiries enhances guest satisfaction.

Job Requirements

  • Pass a pre-employment background check
  • pass a pre-employment drug screening test
  • possess a valid Food Handler Safety Card issued by the Southern Nevada Health District
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous cash handling preferred
  • minimum of 1 year experience as a host or server preferred
  • able to stand and walk on foot 6-8 hours
  • regularly push, pull, and carry objects
  • reach at shoulder level and below waist constantly, above head occasionally
  • bending downward or forward at waist or knees occasionally
  • able to talk and listen to communicate instructions
  • trustworthy with company property
  • punctual and dependable
  • enjoys multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Meets assigned shift requirements
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous cash handling preferred
  • minimum of 1 year experience as a host or server preferred
  • basic math and writing skills
  • able to interact with guests and co-workers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner
  • able to work independently or as part of a team
  • possess problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending the English language

Job Duties

  • Effectively handles assigned section by greeting guests, taking orders promptly, accurately inputting orders into the POS, processes guest checks and payments properly
  • efficiently serves food to guests, refills drinks for guests, and busses tables promptly after guests leave
  • is knowledgeable and can describe menu items, ongoing promotions and special menu items proficiently
  • answers guest inquiries in a purposeful manner
  • maintains a constant flow of communication with kitchen staff and informs guests of their order status
  • prepare and serve beverages and desserts
  • maintains a safe and sanitary work and guest area through constant cleaning, organizing, and replenishing of necessary items
  • performs other duties as assigned by management
