Job Duties
- provides superior customer service
- takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answers customer questions regarding products
- prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- assists in technical areas such as basic set-up and clean-up
- uses suggestive selling techniques and product knowledge to meet customer needs and build sales
- cleans and sanitizes display cases
- operates and maintains equipment properly
- complies with food safety and sanitation standards
- complies with department and store operating procedures
- records production and shrink to aid in production planning (bakery)
- assists in baking, frying, and decorating (bakery)
- culls bakery products for poor quality and expiration dates
- takes care of service counter Customers (deli)
- uses ordering system applications (deli)
- uses Fresh Production Planner (deli)
- performs inventory management processes (deli)
- ensures catering orders are prepared and ready for pickup (deli)
- performs sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers (deli)
- serves and packages products at customer request (prepared foods)
- educates customers on preparation and reheating instructions
- prepackages condiments for prepared foods
- cuts, slices, dices, chops food in preparation for chef
