As a respected name in the healthcare sector, Boone Health continually strives to integrate quality services with compassionate care, ensuring a fulfilling experience for everyone involved.
Boone Health is currently seeking a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator to join their Foundation team on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week. This role is critical to the continuous growth and success of the volunteer program, as it involves recruiting, training, and onboarding volunteers who provide valuable support across multiple departments. The Volunteer Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director of the Foundation and collaborate closely with various department managers to align volunteer roles with departmental needs and volunteer interests.
The Volunteer Coordinator plays a pivotal role in maintaining a motivated and well-organized volunteer workforce at Boone Health. This includes managing all aspects of the volunteer lifecycle, from recruitment and background checks to scheduling and recognition. The position also involves cross-training to serve as a backup for the gift shop coordinator, supporting volunteers who frequently serve there. Additionally, the Volunteer Coordinator may occasionally assist the Foundation at special events, enhancing community engagement and fostering a positive environment for volunteers and staff.
This full-time position offers benefits eligibility from day one, reflecting Boone Health's commitment to employee wellbeing and satisfaction. Working within a healthcare foundation, the Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining detailed records, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations such as annual flu vaccinations and mandatory competencies, and organizing volunteer appreciation events to recognize outstanding contributions.
Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, highly organized, and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. The role demands an individual capable of independent work and teamwork, demonstrating leadership qualities and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse group of volunteers and staff. Experience working with volunteers across various age groups and a passion for expanding and enhancing volunteer programs are essential for success in this role.
This position requires an associate degree with 2-5 years of relevant experience at minimum, while a bachelor’s degree and extended supervisory experience are preferred. Various shifts will be scheduled to meet the needs of the public and the organization, underscoring the importance of flexibility in this role.
