This all-inclusive property combines a laid-back coastal vibe with a dynamic and energetic atmosphere, offering guests an unparalleled vacation experience. The resort boasts spacious rooms and suites, multiple swimming pools, a variety of dining venues, and a broad range of recreational options, including fitness classes, water sports, and live entertainment. The location is ideal for guests seeking both relaxation and adventure, with easy access to popular nearby attractions such as PGA Village and Jensen Beach. Team members at voco Sandpiper play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service for family vacations, business meetings, group events, and special occasions, utilizing both indoor and outdoor venues to create memorable experiences against the backdrop of Florida’s natural beauty.
The role of Catering & Convention Services Manager at voco Sandpiper is pivotal in managing and driving the success of the resort’s catering and convention services. This position requires a blend of creativity, client relationship management, and strong business acumen to meet and exceed food and beverage sales goals, client satisfaction scores, and overall revenue targets. The manager will be responsible for spearheading the catering and convention operations for assigned properties, working closely with the Director of Sales or Director of Catering/Convention Services to achieve these objectives. This overtime eligible manager role demands leadership and operational excellence to ensure flawless execution of events and caterings from initial client contact to completion.
Key responsibilities in this role include consistently meeting and exceeding sales and satisfaction targets by expertly managing client interactions, leading facility tours, and extending exceptional client hospitality. The manager must stay ahead of industry trends, identify new business opportunities, and maintain a competitive edge in the market. Exceptional event planning and execution skills are necessary to handle all banquet orders, client changes, and logistical adjustments seamlessly, ensuring every event runs smoothly and impressively. The role also involves active participation in community events and promotion efforts, reinforcing the resort’s presence and reputation locally.
Candidates for this role are expected to bring prior experience in convention, event, or catering sales, paired with strong communication and negotiation skills. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office and a valid driver’s license. The ideal candidate will be a creative, proactive thinker who can work independently, multitask efficiently, and present themselves professionally at all times.
In addition to a competitive salary structure, the resort offers a comprehensive benefits package after an initial waiting period. This package includes options such as daily pay, medical, dental, and vision coverage, disability and life insurance benefits, paid time off, an employee assistance program, and a 401k retirement plan, making this an attractive opportunity for career growth and job security within a vibrant hospitality setting.
