Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year experience in sales and customer service
  • Ability to work evening shifts including weekdays and weekends during event periods
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with database software preferred
  • Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions with integrity

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year's experience in sales and customer service
  • Ability to interact positively with all customers including members donors potential donors and coworkers in a professional and friendly manner
  • Proficiency in communicating with the Visitor Experience manager supervisors and coworkers using Garden-provided radios
  • Availability to work at least ten evening shifts on both weekdays and weekends from October 6 through 26 2025 for Night of 1,000 Jack-o'-Lanterns
  • Preference for continued availability to work shifts during Lightscape from November 12 2025 through January 4 2026
  • Experience with nonprofit membership and/or development a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Database software experience—Raiser's Edge and Galaxy preferred
  • Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions/receipts with integrity

Job Duties

  • Serve as a Visitor Experience associate at designated points along the outdoor event route including entrances and exits supporting admission processes ticket scanning path monitoring and safety
  • Efficiently handle tasks such as ticket sales new memberships membership renewals database lookups and general inquiries
  • Work closely with Visitor Experience supervisors and manager to develop proficiency in the ticketing software to support daily purchases of admissions memberships event ticket sales and Garden classes
  • Redeem tickets and memberships at designated redemption areas to ensure accurate visit statistics
  • Assist in day-to-day operational procedures including daily revenue reports cash handling the opening and closing of all systems including the cash register and the computerized network and other duties as assigned
  • Monitor visitor materials and displays in and around the admissions area
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of each area
