The VIP Representative role at Horseshoe Bossier is a pivotal position focused on delivering personalized, high-touch service to VIP guests, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and efficiency from arrival to departure. This full-time, on-site position involves warmly welcoming guests, managing reservations, handling guest account charges, and providing essential information and assistance with hotel services. A successful VIP Representative must be well-versed in all Horseshoe programs, promotions, activities, and functions, enabling them to serve as knowledgeable ambassadors for the property. In addition to engaging with casino staff and coordinating with reservations teams to maximize hotel occupancy, the role requires handling guest complaints tactfully, posting charges accurately, and making various guest arrangements such as restaurant and entertainment reservations. Physical mobility and the ability to stand for prolonged periods are necessary to effectively escort VIP guests to different facilities and functions within the hotel.

The position emphasizes outstanding guest relations and requires a courteous, empathetic, and discreet demeanor to cultivate meaningful connections with guests while upholding professional composure even in high-stress, high-volume situations. Being proficient with computer systems, capable of basic arithmetic, and able to communicate effectively with diverse groups are key competencies. Job Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic including the use of percentages
  • Must interact with guests and other team members in a courteous, empathetic, and discreet manner
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodation
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Must be able to assist employees on the front desk during peak traffic periods
  • Able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust
  • Able to work at a fast pace in mentally and physically stressful situations
  • Must maintain professional composure in all situations e.g., demanding, or threatening customer and during periods of high business volume

Job Duties

  • Be completely knowledgeable about all Horseshoe programs, promotions, activities, and functions
  • Process reservations and advance registration payments
  • Answer patrons' complaints and resolve problems
  • Carry out safety and emergency procedures including fire, crowd control, inclement weather
  • Work with casino staff and reservations to assure maximum hotel occupancies by casino customers
  • Operate and control computer terminal
  • Communicate with guests and direct/escort them to various facilities and functions within the property
  • Promote outstanding guest relations
  • Greet, register, and assign rooms to VIP guests in a courteous and efficient manner
  • Issue room keys and escort instructions to Bell Person
  • Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services and registration of VIP guests
  • Escort VIP guests to various facilities and functions in the hotel
  • Keep records of room availability and VIP guests' accounts
  • Compute bills, collect payments, and make change for VIP guests
  • Post charges such as room, food, liquor, or telephone to VIP guest folio
  • Make restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservations, and arrange for tours
  • Block all VIP suites for day of arrival
