This role is for the Vice President of Total Rewards, a strategic leadership position reporting directly to the Chief People Officer. The Vice President will lead the Total Rewards function, overseeing the strategy, design, and execution of comprehensive compensation, benefits, and wellbeing programs. Positioned at the heart of the organization’s growth and operational success, this executive role demands close collaboration with senior leaders, the Board of Directors, and cross-functional teams. The primary focus is on aligning total rewards programs with the company’s business goals, ensuring competitiveness within the industry while fostering an inclusive, performance-driven culture that supports employee wellbeing in all aspects.
The Vice President of Total Rewards will be instrumental in designing competitive compensation structures, including base salary, hourly wages, tipping programs, incentives, and equity plans. Job Requirements
- Twelve plus years progressive experience in total rewards or related fields
- Four to six years executive leadership experience
- Experience with public company compensation and benefits practices
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) credential
- Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and complex environment
- Demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking skills
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure
Job Qualifications
- Twelve plus years progressive experience in total rewards or related fields with 4-6 years executive leadership experience
- Extensive experience with public company compensation and benefits practices including equity administration, executive compensation, and 401(k) management
- Strong influence, relationship building, and communication skills across all organizational levels
- Mature, dependable, flexible team-oriented leader who stays calm under pressure
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities
- Experience in fast-paced, high-growth, or matrixed environments preferred
- Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
- Master’s degree a plus
Job Duties
- Develop and oversee total rewards strategy including compensation, benefits, retirement, mental well-being, and equity programs
- Provide guidance on executive compensation design ensuring regulatory compliance and prepare materials for Compensation Committee
- Lead strategy and execution of benefit programs including health, wellness, retirement, and absence management
- Oversee design, implementation, and administration of competitive compensation structures including hourly wages, tipping, base salary, incentives, and equity plans
- Provide strategic counsel to senior leaders on job evaluations, retention strategies, salary adjustments, and organizational design
- Lead Total Rewards Committee to review and approve health, wellness, and retirement strategies as a fiduciary
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and consultants to optimize benefits program delivery
- Oversee benefit program audits, renewals, and open enrollment ensuring seamless communication and execution
- Guide execution of mental well-being mission through accessible resources and education
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, Legal, and Operations to address compensation, benefits, and retirement needs
- Represent organization externally at industry events and stay informed on trends
- Oversee communication and training programs educating team on compensation, equity, and benefits
- Partner with leadership to build awareness of total rewards initiatives across organization
- Perform other duties as assigned
