Founded by Bill Stoller, the estate has evolved over the past two decades from a second-generation family farm into the largest contiguous vineyard in the region. Spanning 373 acres, the property supplies premium fruit to leading producers and is highly respected for its dedication to quality and innovation. The estate is renowned for its commitment to sustainable practices, exemplified by housing the world's first LEED Gold certified winery. It also boasts three guest homes and a state-of-the-art tasting room offering panoramic views of the vineyards, making it a destination for wine enthusiasts and visitors alike.

The Vice President of Winemaking at Stoller Family Estate is a vital full-time, on-site leadership position based in Dayton, Oregon. This role takes full responsibility for overseeing the entire wine production process from grape to bottle. They lead and manage the winemaking team, develop effective production strategies, and ensure that all wines produced align with the estate's brand standards for quality, consistency, and style. Daily activities include supervising harvest operations, managing fermentation processes, blending, aging, setting bottling schedules, and maintaining cellar protocols. A key focus is upholding stringent safety and sustainability standards throughout all production activities.

Beyond production responsibilities, the Vice President of Winemaking collaborates closely with vineyard management to align on fruit quality and yield targets. They also engage cross-functionally with the hospitality, sales, and marketing teams to enhance product development, support brand storytelling, and elevate customer experiences both on-site and through broader market channels. This role carries financial responsibilities such as budgeting, vendor management, and compliance with all regulatory requirements related to wine production and safety.

Additionally, the Vice President fosters a high-performance and inclusive workplace culture by training and mentoring team members at all levels. Job Requirements

  • bachelor’s degree in enology, viticulture, food science, or related field
  • proven experience in premium or luxury winemaking
  • strong leadership skills with team management experience
  • knowledge of food safety and regulatory compliance
  • experience in hospitality or food and beverage service
  • ability to manage budgets and vendor relationships
  • excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • physical ability to work in cellar conditions and extended hours during harvest

Job Qualifications

  • strong leadership and team management skills including training and talent development
  • expertise in wine production and cellar operations with experience in premium or luxury winemaking
  • knowledge of food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance for wine and beverage production
  • experience in food and beverage service or hospitality with a customer service mindset
  • bachelor’s degree in enology, viticulture, food science, or related field
  • advanced degree or equivalent industry experience preferred
  • ability to manage budgets, production planning, inventory, and vendor relationships
  • excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • comfort with technology and winery management systems
  • ability to perform physical work in a cellar environment
