Job Requirements

  • minimum of 1 year veterinary receptionist experience preferred
  • compassionate and calm demeanor
  • strong communication skills
  • highly organized with computer proficiency
  • self-starter with willingness to learn and grow
  • punctual and reliable
  • weekend availability
  • ability to interpret medical records accurately
  • knowledge of veterinary preventative care and surgical procedures
  • ability to restrain animals safely and with low stress
  • proficiency in sample collection and laboratory procedures
  • ability to perform radiographic positioning
  • experience with anesthesia and surgical monitoring
  • openness to constructive feedback

Job Qualifications

  • experienced receptionist with a minimum of 1-year veterinary experience preferred
  • compassionate, calm, team player, multi-tasker and strong communicator
  • highly organized and possess computer skills
  • self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset

  • ability to arrive on-time and ready to work

  • interpret medical records and record client history accurately
  • knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
  • ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
  • proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
  • ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
  • proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs, positioning for dental radiographs are a plus
  • proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
  • ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency

Job Duties

  • maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area
  • greet and welcome clients and patients
  • answer questions and triage client concerns
  • answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution
  • schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow
  • check in and check out clients and process payments
  • offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need
