Job Duties

  • Greet and make friendly eye contact when hospital door opens
  • Offer a friendly smile and maintain strong eye contact
  • Act as a compassionate listener
  • Speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone
  • Assess each client’s need and pet’s condition upon arrival
  • Determine whether an emergency arrival is a stat or standard emergency
  • Respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to appropriate team members
  • Confirm all appointments in advance with accurate client information
  • Provide emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients
  • Serve as a liaison during handling of pet remains ensuring a compassionate process
