Job Description

The Nottingham Pet Clinic is a well-established veterinary practice located in Syracuse, NY, dedicated to providing compassionate care for small animals. Founded in 1985 by Dr. Nancy Freeborough, the clinic has built a strong reputation within the community for its commitment to delivering genuine care and comfort to pets and their owners. Situated conveniently between Syracuse University and Le Moyne College, Nottingham Pet Clinic serves a diverse clientele who value personalized attention and expertise in veterinary services. The clinic prides itself on a team-oriented environment where every staff member contributes to a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for both clients and their pets.

As a Veterinary Receptionist at Nottingham Pet Clinic, you will play a key role in ensuring seamless operations at the front desk and providing exceptional customer service. This full-time position demands a professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and has a passion for helping pets and their owners. Your responsibilities will include managing patient check-in and discharge, handling invoicing, answering incoming phone calls, scheduling appointments and referrals, and processing payments. You will also be the first point of contact, creating a positive experience for clients through friendly greetings, addressing questions with clarity, and offering reassurance to anxious pet owners.

Additionally, you will assist with administrative tasks such as updating and filing patient charts, managing mail and emails, retrieving prescriptions, and handling retail sales related to pet supplies like food and supplements. Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of reception and waiting areas is also an integral part of your role, contributing to the clinic’s professional and inviting environment.

The ideal candidate for this position possesses strong organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and the capacity to multitask efficiently under pressure. Being tech-savvy and team-oriented will allow you to navigate the clinic’s software systems and collaborate smoothly with veterinary staff. This role offers not only an opportunity to impact the well-being of animals and their families but also to grow within a supportive and rewarding workplace.

All full-time team members at Nottingham Pet Clinic enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive base pay supplemented by a revenue share bonus program. Additional benefits include medical, vision, and dental insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, a 401k plan with matching contributions, paid time off, holiday pay, free continuing education, mental health support, and allowances for shoes and scrubs. The clinic is committed to investing in the professional development and well-being of its employees, making it an excellent place for individuals passionate about veterinary care and customer service to build a fulfilling career.
