Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in customer service or veterinary settings preferred
  • computer literacy including keyboarding and use of communication tools
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to handle stressful and emotional situations calmly
  • flexibility to work full-time Monday through Saturday 8 am to 6 pm
  • reliable and punctual work ethic

  • computer knowledge required including keyboarding and use of communication tools such as email and internet
  • working knowledge of veterinary terminology including ability to pronounce, spell, and understand terms
  • excellent spelling and grammar
  • ability to handle varied and sometimes difficult conditions including highly emotional situations
  • ability to display tact and respect with clients and team members
  • ability to conduct oneself in a confident, calm, and professional manner under stress
  • genuine liking for animals and their owners and a passion for working in animal care

Job Duties

  • Maintain and uphold the core values and mission statement of MPH
  • greet clients and pets by name with a smile and a positive, solution-oriented attitude
  • answer phones promptly and professionally using a multi-line phone system
  • schedule appointments and surgeries according to hospital scheduling guidelines
  • note in medical records the details discussed during client conversations including the date, time, key points of the discussion and any required information
  • enter accurate charges and explain invoices to show value for care provided, stating all services and products provided before the total
  • collect payment when services are rendered, including making change for cash payments and processing credit cards
