Job Requirements
- Flexible schedule including some weekend and holiday shifts
- Utilizing standard office/business equipment
- Experience in customer service or related field preferred
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Reliable and punctual
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures
- Experience with veterinary software preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good judgment and ability to manage stressful situations
- Possession of organizational skills
- Critical thinking abilities to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and accept direction
Job Duties
- Receive and place calls to clients for scheduling
- Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner
- Maintain proper documentation through client and pet records including referral and medical history
- Assist clients by providing instructions, information, invoices, dispensing prescriptions per veterinarian instructions, and scheduling future appointments
- Utilize hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and teammates
- Manage hospital financial transactions by maintaining accurate balances, following cash and credit card procedures, and proper opening and closing protocols
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally
- Advocate for pets through client education on preventative care, pet health needs, treatment recommendations, and hospital services/procedures
- Maintain a positive attitude in all interactions with clients, pets, and teammates
- Show empathy toward clients and treat pets with compassion and respect
