Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a veterinary or customer service role preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to use multi-line phone systems
- Familiarity with basic computer applications and medical record systems
- Willingness to work flexible hours including some Saturdays
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized reception area
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and demeanor

- Computer literacy including keyboarding and use of email and internet
- Working knowledge of veterinary terminology including pronunciation and spelling
- Excellent spelling and grammar skills
- Ability to handle varied and sometimes difficult conditions
- Ability to display tact and respect toward clients and team members
- Ability to maintain a confident, calm, and professional demeanor in stressful situations
- Genuine liking for animals and a passion for working in an animal care environment
Job Duties
- Maintain and uphold the core values and mission statement of MVP
- Greet clients and pets by name with a smile and a positive, solution-oriented attitude
- Answer phones promptly and professionally using a multi-line phone system
- Answer client inquiries about basic animal care and routine procedures
- Schedule appointments and surgeries according to hospital scheduling guidelines
- Note details of client conversations in medical records accurately
- Enter accurate charges and explain invoices to clients
- Collect payments including cash, credit cards, and checks with proper verification
- Verify eligibility of clients with charge accounts
- Maintain accurate and updated client records
- Fill prescription refill forms and provide routine administration instructions
- Advise clients on flea/tick preventatives, heartworm preventatives, and other retail products
