Job Description
Mulnix Animal Clinic is an AAHA accredited veterinary practice located in the scenic city of Fort Collins, Colorado. As a highly respected animal care facility, Mulnix prioritizes a comprehensive Whole Person Approach to support and nurture all members of their veterinary teams. This progressive philosophy encompasses not only competitive living wages for all hospital team members but also extends to best-in-class benefits, mental health support, and opportunities for continuous education and professional growth. The clinic recognizes the importance of investing in its employees and sees them as critical contributors to the clinic's ongoing success; therefore, every team member is eligible for participation in the clinic’s revenue sharing program. This demonstrates the clinic’s commitment to sharing the growth and success it achieves with those who help drive it forward.
Mulnix Animal Clinic is known for fostering a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment where every team member's career journey is uniquely supported through custom-tailored development plans. Whether employees are looking to enhance their skills to advance their careers or build additional capacity to serve their community better, Mulnix is committed to providing the tools and guidance necessary to achieve those goals. The clinic's mission extends beyond employee wellbeing to encompass patient care as a top priority. To ensure the comfort and well-being of patients, Mulnix incorporates a variety of low-stress handling techniques designed to reduce anxiety and fear in animals during their visit. This thoughtful approach begins from the moment owners contact the clinic by phone, continues when they and their pets arrive at the clinic, and is maintained throughout the duration of the visit.
The role of Veterinary Receptionist at Mulnix Animal Clinic is integral to the smooth operation of daily activities and the delivery of exceptional customer service. Veterinary receptionists serve as the critical first point of contact for clients and patients, bridging communication between clients, doctors, technicians, and assistants. This full-time, long-term position demands exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with professionalism and efficiency.
The Veterinary Receptionist is responsible for a broad range of duties including greeting clients, checking in and discharging patients, handling invoicing and payments, and managing appointment scheduling. This role also requires proficiency in managing phone communications, addressing customer inquiries, recording messages for staff, and handling both incoming and outgoing mail and email correspondence. Accuracy in updating patient charts and entering data into various computer systems is essential. Additionally, the receptionist assists with pet supply sales, including food, supplements, and grooming items, and must be able to maintain a clean and welcoming waiting area. Physical aspects of the role include the ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds and the stamina to stand for extended periods while maintaining a professional demeanor.
This position is ideal for candidates who are tech-savvy, team-oriented, highly organized, and possess excellent communication skills. Mulnix Animal Clinic offers a supportive environment that values customer service excellence and operational efficiency, providing a rewarding career for individuals passionate about animal care and client interaction.
