Job Description

The Ark Veterinary Clinic is a well-established and growing veterinary practice committed to providing exceptional care and service to pets and their owners. Located in a welcoming community, the clinic prides itself on a friendly, respectful, and professional environment where teamwork and compassionate animal care are top priorities. With a focus on both preventive health and advanced treatments, the clinic offers a full range of veterinary services including diagnostics, surgery, and ongoing wellness support. The Ark Veterinary Clinic values its employees and is committed to fostering a positive working culture that emphasizes respect for teammates and clients alike.

The clinic is currently seeking motivated and dedicated individuals to join their incredible team as either Receptionists or Veterinary Assistants, with a strong preference for candidates willing to cross-train in both roles. This multi-faceted position is ideal for those who enjoy a dynamic work environment where client interaction and hands-on animal care are both essential aspects of the job. As part of the front-line staff, the new team member will be responsible for delivering excellent client service, ensuring clear communication, and supporting veterinary professionals in daily treatment and care routines.

The Receptionist role is focused on providing outstanding client care which includes greeting and assisting clients, answering telephone calls professionally, educating clients about their pets’ care, and managing administrative duties such as client check-in and checkout processes. The Receptionist will also be responsible for maintaining accurate patient records by scanning and uploading documents, handling incoming emails and text messages, and managing medication filling tasks. This position requires a warm, welcoming demeanor and the ability to effectively communicate with clients to enhance their experience at the clinic.

In the role of Veterinary Assistant, the candidate will assist with patient care and treatment directly under the supervision of veterinarians and vet technicians. Duties include restraining animals during procedures such as blood draws and nail trims, aiding in routine diagnostic tests like radiographs and bloodwork, administering vaccines and medications, and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment. The Veterinary Assistant will also be responsible for monitoring hospitalized pets, especially after surgery, and ensuring cleanliness and sanitization of cages, kennels, and treatment areas. The ability to maintain inventory and organize supplies is also a crucial element of this role.

The ideal candidate will have at least 18 months of experience in the veterinary field, though those with surgical experience are highly preferred. The clinic emphasizes the importance of client communication and ensuring that all treatment estimates are properly agreed upon and documented. Candidates must be flexible to cover shifts as needed, typically working four 9 to 9.5 hour shifts per week. Full-time employees will benefit from medical benefits and industry discounts, making this role a rewarding career opportunity for those passionate about veterinary care and client service.

Joining The Ark Veterinary Clinic means becoming part of a dedicated team that values compassion, respect, and a commitment to excellence in animal health care. This position offers the chance to grow professionally by gaining experience across multiple facets of veterinary practice while contributing to a positive, supportive workplace culture.
