Job Description

Sodexo is a global leader in providing integrated food services and facilities management solutions, dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals and communities worldwide. Operating across various sectors including healthcare, education, corporate, and large public venues, Sodexo focuses on delivering outstanding service that enhances every day experiences for customers and employees alike. At the core of Sodexo's mission is a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equitable treatment, fostering workplaces where all employees are valued and respected. Sodexo’s presence in Indianapolis, Indiana, includes significant operations at the Indiana Convention Center, a premier venue known for hosting major events, conferences, and large-scale gatherings across the region, providing exceptional culinary and hospitality experiences.

The role of Venue Stadium Chef at the Indiana Convention Center is a dynamic and influential position within Sodexo’s food services team. Offering a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $120,000 plus bonus eligibility, this position provides a unique opportunity to apply multi-unit culinary expertise across a broad geographic area. The appointed candidate will be responsible for supporting menu development, large-scale catering, recipe creation, and enforcing strict food safety standards throughout multiple venues. With a strategic focus on operational support and training, the Venue Stadium Chef will work closely with both frontline and management teams to enhance culinary execution and maintain consistent quality standards.

This role is ideal for someone motivated to make a significant impact through their culinary skills and leadership capabilities, contributing directly through specialized technical tasks and project completions. Among the key responsibilities are system implementations, plate costing, inventory oversight, and compliance monitoring involving vendors, product quality, and food management systems. The Venue Stadium Chef will also play a crucial role in recruitment efforts, candidate selection, and the ongoing development of culinary talent across the district, ensuring operational excellence and high culinary standards are upheld consistently.

The job functions largely independently, with collaboration occurring as needed to leverage team strengths across multiple units. It encompasses hands-on experience with financial controls and food management tools, providing a broad professional exposure to large-scale, high-volume production environments. This role not only emphasizes culinary innovation but also demands strong organizational skills, adaptability, and confidence to represent the organization in various internal and external settings, including sales and program showcases. Travel within the region is part of the position, offering variety and the chance to engage with different venues and teams.

Candidates should have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of five years in management roles and at least three years in related culinary experience. Proficiency in culinary systems, food safety training, plate costing, and P&L understanding is essential, along with strong communication abilities and leadership skills. Sodexo offers a comprehensive benefits package featuring medical, dental, vision care, wellness programs, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, paid time off, company holidays, career growth opportunities, and tuition reimbursement. This position also grants eligibility for Sodexo’s incentive plan, which provides the chance to earn additional variable compensation.

Joining Sodexo as a Venue Stadium Chef means becoming part of a dedicated team committed to operational excellence and culinary innovation within a respected global company. The role promises professional growth, diverse responsibilities, and the opportunity to shape the culinary standards at one of Indianapolis’s largest and most prestigious event venues, making it an excellent career advancement move for experienced culinary professionals seeking to broaden their impact and leadership scope.
