Job Description
River Spirit Casino Resort, located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a premier entertainment and gaming destination renowned for its vibrant casino offerings, luxurious accommodations, and exceptional customer service. Operated under the guidelines and policies set forth by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Gaming Enterprise (MNGE), River Spirit Casino Resort prides itself on maintaining a trusted, secure, and enjoyable environment for both guests and employees. This full-time opportunity is part of the Cash Operations department, specifically within the Vault Cashier team, a critical component of the casino’s financial management and regulatory compliance functions.
The Vault Cashier position at River Spirit requires an individual who is highly detail-oriented, responsible, and accurate in handling large volumes of cash and cash equivalents such as chips. The role primarily focuses on verifying, balancing, and recording all incoming and outgoing monetary transactions within the casino environment. This includes the preparation and staging of cash trays for bank issuance, replenishing and managing cash-loading devices like kiosks and bill breaker machines, and supporting the cage operations by assisting cashiers and supervisors with transactions. The Vault Cashier must strictly adhere to MNGE’s established policies, Internal Control Standards, and comprehensive regulatory requirements, including those mandated by Title 31 compliance.
The importance of this role cannot be overstated as it involves safeguarding casino assets and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting to maintain operational integrity. The Vault Cashier regularly checks cash denominations, confirms transactions using automated accounting systems, and reports any discrepancies or irregularities promptly. They are entrusted with the responsibility of performing routine maintenance of cash handling machinery, such as locking and unlocking cash boxes, and managing currency distribution processes in coordination with other cashiers and supervisory staff.
In addition to their core cash handling duties, Vault Cashiers provide essential assistance in vault and cage operations. They support a range of financial activities that include distributing cash and chips to issue banks as well as temporarily stepping in for supervisors to carry out counting, sealing, labeling, and completing documentation for deposits. This role requires a strong understanding of operational policies and the capacity to perform efficiently under regulatory scrutiny, especially during compliance audits.
Candidates for the Vault Cashier role should bring a minimum of six months experience in cash handling paired with fundamental math skills. While prior clerical or administrative experience is valued, the primary focus is on accuracy, reliability, and regulatory adherence. Prospective employees must hold or obtain a valid MCN OPG Gaming License, pass a comprehensive background check, and a drug test as part of the hiring process.
This full-time position is an excellent opportunity to build a career in casino operations within a reputable and dynamic entertainment property in Tulsa. River Spirit Casino Resort offers a supportive workplace culture dedicated to fostering growth and professionalism among its staff members. If you are meticulous with numbers, thrive in a regulated environment, and seek to contribute to a trusted financial operation in the gaming industry, the Vault Cashier role at River Spirit Casino Resort is an ideal fit.
