Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior coaching or competitive rowing experience
  • CPR/First Aid certification or commitment to obtain before season starts
  • USRowing SafeSport certification and background check clearance
  • Ability to work weekday afternoons, some early mornings, and weekends
  • Boaters license or willingness to obtain
  • Strong communication skills
  • Positive attitude and mentorship ability

Job Qualifications

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Prior coaching or competitive rowing experience, varsity or collegiate level preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain before the season starts
  • USRowing SafeSport certification and background check clearance
  • Ability to work weekday afternoons, some early mornings, and weekends for races
  • Boaters license or willingness to obtain
  • Experience working with high school rowers preferred
  • Trailer driving experience or willingness to learn preferred

Job Duties

  • Assist the Varsity Boys Head Coach in planning and leading daily practices and regattas
  • Support the physical and technical development of experienced high school rowers
  • Uphold team standards and contribute to a culture of respect, accountability, and inclusion
  • Provide mentorship and guidance both on and off the water
  • Ensure athlete safety and adherence to all Mt. Baker and Seattle Parks and Recreation policies
