Job Description

The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel, located in downtown Lincoln, Nebraska, is a prestigious and historic hotel that has been serving Nebraska's capital city for nearly 90 years. The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel is currently seeking a Valet/Shuttle Driver to join its dedicated Guest Services team. This role is integral to ensuring guests receive outstanding service from the moment they arrive until their departure. Valet/Shuttle Drivers are responsible for safely parking guests' vehicles, transporting guests between various destinations, and assisting with luggage and packages to enhance the overall guest experience. This position requires individuals who excel in attention to detail, are professional, and possess a genuine enthusiasm for hospitality.

As a Valet/Shuttle Driver, you will be the face of the hotel’s welcoming team and play an active role in making visits to the property truly memorable. Your duties will include greeting guests warmly, managing car parking, shuttling guests to the airport or downtown Lincoln locations, and assisting with luggage handling. You will also be expected to actively participate in all mandatory department meetings and trainings, demonstrating a commitment to continual learning and guest satisfaction. Representing the hotel with professionalism and calmness, particularly during busy or emergency situations, is essential to maintaining the high standards expected by the hotel and its guests.

This position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to maintain it throughout the duration of employment. Candidates must be willing to work varied schedules, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to operate effectively under pressure. Physical demands include the ability to lift and manage luggage and packages weighing up to 100 pounds continuously throughout the shift. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are needed to effectively interact with guests and coworkers and to handle guest concerns with empathy and proactive solutions, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times. The candidate must also have the ability to understand and communicate in English sufficiently to handle luggage tags, claim tickets, and related documentation accurately.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • greeting or welcoming all guests
  • check-ins and check-outs
  • effectively resolving challenging guest requests and complaints
  • parking cars and making frequent trips to the airport or downtown Lincoln
  • lifting, carrying, or loading luggage and packages onto bell carts to transport them to designated rooms
  • reading and matching luggage tags, writing claim tickets, and detaching portions to give to guests
  • attending all scheduled mandatory Guest Services Department meetings, trainings, and hotel meetings
  • performing all other related duties and special projects as requested or assigned
  • representing the hotel with professionalism and decorum, remaining calm and alert during emergencies or busy hotel activity
