Job Description

Sonesta International Hotels is recognized as the 8th largest hotel company in the United States, experiencing rapid growth and expansion. As a prominent player in the hospitality industry, Sonesta offers a unique blend of full-service and focused hotels situated in major cities across the globe. With a portfolio that includes owned, managed, and franchised properties, Sonesta is present in over 1,000 locations spanning eight countries, making it a true global hospitality leader. This widespread presence ensures that Sonesta is everywhere guests want to be, delivering exceptional service that is driven by a commitment to the human side of hospitality. The company prides itself on providing experiences that connect deeply with guests through passionate service and purposeful loyalty. Sonesta’s mission revolves around quality, value, and hospitality that resonates with every guest at every stay.

The role of Valet Supervisor at Sonesta International Hotels is essential in setting the tone for the company’s dedication to "Wowing" guests with unforgettable moments. This position focuses on leading the Bell/Valet team to provide exemplary service in assisting guests with luggage transport to and from guest rooms. The Valet Supervisor is instrumental in ensuring that guests receive a welcoming, courteous, and professional experience from arrival to departure. This leadership role involves overseeing staff training, managing scheduling in cooperation with front office leadership, and maintaining strict adherence to guest car key control policies. Physical demands include the ability to handle significant lifting and moving of luggage, push and pull heavy carts, and operate in varying weather conditions—which highlights the job’s active and guest-facing nature.

The job requires flexibility with working hours, accommodating variable shifts that may include days, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays. Typical shifts may extend to ten to twelve hours, reflecting the fast-paced environment of hotel operations. Candidates with a passion for hospitality and a genuine dedication to exceeding guest expectations will thrive in this role. Prior leadership experience in valet or bellman services, as well as experience in hotel or retail customer service, are preferred qualifications.

This position is vital to delivering Sonesta’s core values: doing the right thing, going beyond expectations, and fostering teamwork across departments. Key responsibilities include supervising the Bell/Valet team, conducting team meetings, promoting hotel services and amenities, handling guest complaints effectively, preparing incident reports, and ensuring seamless coordination with other hotel departments. Sonesta provides a supportive environment with a strong emphasis on guest satisfaction and employee growth. The company also offers competitive compensation, including a pay range of $19 to $21 per hour plus eligibility for tips, reinforcing the value they place on their dedicated team members.

Beyond salary, Sonesta International Hotels values its employees by offering comprehensive benefits designed to promote health, well-being, and financial security. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance options, health savings accounts with company matching contributions, and a 401(k) retirement plan also featuring a company match. Additionally, employees enjoy paid vacation and sick days, educational assistance, paid parental leave, company-paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, and a variety of perks and discounts anchored by Sonesta hotel stays. Such benefits emphasize Sonesta’s commitment to supporting the people behind the hospitality experience.

Sonesta International Hotels is committed to equal opportunity employment, embracing diversity and inclusion. The company ensures applicants are fairly considered without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic. This commitment to fairness and community is a foundational principle of Sonesta’s corporate culture, underpinning its mission to offer exceptional hospitality in an inclusive workplace.

The Valet Supervisor role provides an excellent career opportunity for individuals eager to join a dynamic, growing hospitality brand. This position is perfect for someone who relishes a guest-facing, active role that demands high energy, strong leadership, and impeccable customer service skills.
