Job Description

Sanford Health is one of the largest and fastest-growing not-for-profit health systems in the United States. With nearly 50,000 employees, Sanford Health is dedicated to providing exceptional care and support throughout a broad geographic footprint that includes numerous hospitals, clinics, and specialty care facilities. The organization prides itself on fostering a culture of health and healing that extends beyond medical treatment to include community involvement, patient experience, and employee growth and development. As a major healthcare provider, Sanford Health combines innovative health technologies with compassionate care, ensuring patients and their families receive personalized attention and support. The system is well-regarded for its commitment to quality, safety, and patient satisfaction, making it a trusted name in the healthcare industry.

The Valet Service role at Sanford Health is a critical front-line position that ensures a positive first and last impression for patients, families, and visitors using the valet parking services at any designated entrance. This position is scheduled for day shifts with weekly hours totaling 25, offering an hourly wage range between $15.00 and $22.50. The role involves providing exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism and tact even in busy and stressful environments. Valets play a vital role in supporting the hospital environment by welcoming guests, assisting with hospital directions, managing vehicle parking, and contributing to the overall smooth operation of valet entrances.

This role demands physical stamina, as valets will be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions and walk up to eight miles per day. Candidates must be able to operate vehicles with both manual and automatic transmissions safely and efficiently. Beyond parking cars, valets will assist healthcare staff with patient discharges by opening vehicle doors and helping load personal belongings. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to interact empathetically with people who may be experiencing health-related stress or emergencies.

Sanford Health seeks valets who exhibit problem-solving abilities, quick adaptation to changes, and a positive attitude. The valet must demonstrate good judgment and critical thinking skills when handling unusual or challenging situations. In some cases, valets may be tasked with transporting non-emergency patients or visitors within a one-mile radius of medical facilities. Emphasizing a caring attitude and willingness to help, this position contributes significantly to the patient and visitor experience, helping to create a welcoming environment that reflects the Sanford Health brand and mission.
