The role being offered is that of a Valet Attendant, a key position that directly influences the guests' first and last impressions of the property. This role involves managing the flow of guest vehicles, ensuring their safety, and providing courteous, efficient service at the hotel entrance. The Valet Attendant is responsible for greeting guests promptly and professionally, assisting them with parking and vehicle retrieval, and maintaining the security of vehicles throughout their stay. This job requires an individual who is adept at driving both manual and automatic transmission vehicles, possesses excellent communication skills, and can adhere to established safety and operational procedures. The position demands flexibility in working various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the operational needs of the hotel.

The Valet Attendant will play an essential part in promoting guest satisfaction by providing timely, friendly service and ensuring that the parking areas and related facilities are safe, clean, and well-organized. This role also entails documenting and reporting any vehicle incidents, coordinating traffic flow during peak times, and maintaining proper communication with guests regarding property facilities and services. The ideal candidate will be someone with previous valet experience and a clean driving record, comfortable with physical activity, and capable of standing and moving for extended periods. Job Requirements

  • Previous valet experience preferred with 3 years' driving experience
  • ability to communicate effectively both written and orally
  • basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • must have driving skills and be able to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles
  • flexible availability to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • minimum age of 19 years
  • must obtain and maintain appropriate licensing with Alcohol Awareness Card
  • valid driver's license with acceptable driving record as per DMV requirements
  • physical ability to stand, walk, crouch, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • able to fulfill physical demands including use of vision, both hands and feet dexterity

Job Qualifications

  • Previous valet experience or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • possess interpersonal skills to deal effectively with business contacts and employees at all levels of the company
  • ability of simple reading, writing, math, and task completion skills
  • must have skills in driving, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making
  • flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours
  • must be a minimum of 19 years of age

Job Duties

  • Open hotel main doors and assist guests/visitors entering and leaving the property
  • assist guests with opening/closing vehicle doors
  • welcome guests and visitors with appropriate greetings of the day
  • acknowledge and greet guests within 25 to 30 seconds and provide professional, fast and friendly service
  • communicate parking procedures to guests/visitors
  • tag guest vehicle keys with date & time, registration number, make/model, room number or contact number of the guest
  • verify guests' ticket with the one attached to the key before handing over keys or vehicle to the guest
  • effectively park and retrieve guests' cars without causing damage to the vehicle
  • drive and operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles
  • provide guests with information regarding property facilities, amenities, services, special events
  • give fond farewell to all guests who are departing as per GSR standards
  • monitor and direct personal and commercial vehicle traffic on property, including guest vehicles, taxi cabs, limousines, buses and rideshare
  • maintain the security of vehicles, belongings kept inside the car and vehicle keys
  • follow up with guests to ensure their requests or problems have been met to their satisfaction
  • document and report all vehicle incidents like damage, accidents, theft, missing articles
  • report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the supervisor or manager
  • monitor and maintain safety, security, and cleanliness of parking areas, portico and in the key booth
  • re-route traffic when parking space reaches maximum capacity and ensure staff is informed
  • perform any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position
