Job Description

The iconic Hotel del Coronado, located on the picturesque Coronado Island just minutes from downtown San Diego, is searching for a Valet Parking Cashier (Seasonal) to join its esteemed team. As one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world, the Hotel del Coronado is a beloved historic landmark that has been enchanting guests since it was built in 1888. The property spans over 28 acres and features more than 750 rooms, cottages, and villas, along with 65,000 square feet of banquet space and 10 food and beverage outlets. These include four restaurants, two bars, a food truck, a marketplace, an ice cream shop, and in-room dining options, all contributing to an exceptional guest experience.

Following a remarkable $400 million renovation and expansion, the resort now offers guests an enhanced blend of timeless charm and modern luxury. This seasonal Valet Parking Cashier position offers the opportunity to be part of the legendary resort’s hospitality team during the busy summer season, running from May 2026 through September 8, 2026. The role offers a competitive pay rate starting at $21.16 per hour, which can vary with specialized experience and location. It is a union position under the Local 30 Union, requiring candidates to have complete open availability, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The schedule is variable and based on seniority and business needs, with full-time hours not guaranteed.

As a Valet Parking Cashier, your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional customer service while managing all parking transactions efficiently and accurately. This includes greeting arriving and departing guests warmly and promptly, operating the point-of-sale system to process payments including cash, credit/debit cards, gift certificates, and vouchers, and maintaining accurate records of parking charges and fees. You will also be entrusted with managing the parking booth area, ensuring smooth traffic flow, and responding to guest inquiries and requests with professionalism and friendliness. This role plays an essential part in both enhancing the guest experience and supporting the financial profitability of the parking services offered by the resort.

Working for Hilton, the parent company of Hotel del Coronado, means joining a global hospitality leader with nearly a century of commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction. Hilton’s values—Hospitality, Integrity, Leadership, Teamwork, Ownership, and a sense of urgency—guide every team member’s actions and decisions. Hilton promotes a culture of adaptability, dependability, and customer focus, encouraging its employees to deliver quality results and maintain high productivity.

The Valet Parking Cashier role at Hotel del Coronado offers a unique opportunity to be part of a historic resort that blends classic Victorian charm with modern amenities, providing guests with unforgettable experiences. It is perfect for individuals who thrive in a team environment, enjoy interacting with people, and are committed to upholding Hilton's standards of excellence. With its rich history, recent renovation, and inspiring vision to fill the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality, the Hotel del Coronado is a pinnacle workplace for those wanting to grow within the hospitality industry.
