The position of Valet Parking Attendant plays a vital role within Crouse Health, contributing to the overall patient and visitor experience by ensuring smooth, efficient, and courteous valet services. This role involves the responsible handling of patient and guest vehicles according to established policies and procedures, guaranteeing safe and organized parking. The Valet Parking Attendant is responsible for managing valet tickets, cash transactions, and maintaining a clean, orderly parking lot to facilitate efficient vehicle retrieval. In addition to logistical responsibilities, the attendant must display excellent public relations skills by providing clear information about parking procedures, assisting with luggage and wheelchair support, and assisting visitors in a professional and friendly manner.

This full-time role requires physical stamina to withstand long periods of standing and exposure to various weather conditions, as well as the ability to handle vehicles of different types and sizes within hospital driving policies. The Valet Parking Attendant is also expected to perform courier duties when necessary, communicate effectively with departmental leadership, and resolve crisis situations independently with a positive and professional attitude. Participation in required training and meetings is mandatory, ensuring continuous development and alignment with Crouse Health’s standards. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid NYS Driver's License in accordance with the Crouse Health Driving Policy
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle with either an automatic or standard transmission
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and withstand various weather conditions
  • Capability to get in and out of vehicles without assistance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid NYS Driver's License
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle with either an automatic or standard transmission
  • Demonstrated customer service and public relations skills
  • Ability to handle cash and complete accounting paperwork accurately

Job Duties

  • Drive patient and guest vehicles to designated areas and safely park them
  • Organize and complete valet tickets and accounting forms in a neat and orderly fashion as well as document all pertinent information
  • Responsible for receiving cash, cash receipts, credit card payments, and handling a cash drawer
  • Maintain order of the valet parking lot by organizing vehicles for efficient retrieval
  • Retrieve vehicles when patients and guests are ready to leave
  • Safely operate different types and sizes of vehicles in a safe and acceptable manner within hospital driving policy standards
  • Display excellent public relations skills while providing information, giving directions, assisting with luggage, and providing wheelchair assistance
