Job Description
Crouse Health has been a cornerstone in healthcare service delivery since its inception in 1887, making it one of the most trusted healthcare providers in Central New York. Over the decades, Crouse Health has melded a family-friendly, caring culture with a relentless commitment to quality patient care. This commitment is reflected in its wide array of services that encompass both general and specialty medical care. The institution delivers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, catering to a diverse patient population with varying healthcare needs. Adding to its healthcare offerings, Crouse Health actively engages in community health education and outreach programs, aiming to uplift the overall health standards of the communities it serves.
Crouse Health is currently seeking a Valet Parking Attendant to join their team on a Per Diem basis with a rotating schedule. This position is vital for maintaining smooth operational flow within the hospital by providing reliable and courteous valet parking services to patients, visitors, and other contacts of the hospital. The role operates Monday through Friday within the hours of 5:30 AM to 8:30 PM. The position offers a competitive pay range of $19.75 to $26.13 per hour, based on the candidate’s experience.
The Valet Parking Attendant is responsible for a variety of duties that ensure the efficient management of the hospital’s parking facilities. This includes safely driving and parking vehicles, managing valet tickets and accounting forms, and handling payments securely. The role also requires assisting guests by providing information, directions, and helping with luggage and wheelchair assistance when necessary. The attendant must be capable of standing for long periods, operating various types of vehicles safely under hospital driving policies, and working under different weather conditions. A key part of the job is maintaining an organized parking area for the efficient retrieval of vehicles.
This role is not just about parking cars—it involves excellent interpersonal skills as Valet Parking Attendants are often the first and last hospital touchpoint for patients and visitors. They play a critical role in shaping a positive impression of the hospital. They need to handle crises independently and maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times towards patients, leadership, vendors, and colleagues. The role requires participation in meetings, training, and in-service programs to stay aligned with hospital policies and standards.
Overall, this position allows for meaningful interaction with the community and contributes significantly to patient satisfaction and hospital efficiency. Working at Crouse Health means being part of a dedicated team committed to excellence and compassionate care in a supportive work environment.
