The Lead Valet position at ABM is a vital role responsible for overseeing the valet operations at designated facilities. This full-time, on-site role demands strong leadership and communication skills to manage a team of valet attendants, ensuring the efficient and safe parking and retrieval of vehicles. The Lead Valet plays a significant role in coordinating traffic flow, maintaining clear communication of valet procedures to guests, and providing exceptional customer service. This position requires a hands-on approach to daily operations, including monitoring illegal parking, managing the tip pool accurately, reconciling daily revenue, and handling various payment types securely. The Lead Valet must also foresee peak traffic periods and coordinate additional support to minimize wait times, demonstrating proactive operational management.
Working outdoors and maintaining cleanliness in the work area is integral to the role, alongside observing all traffic laws, facility policies, and pedestrian regulations to ensure safety. This role also includes assisting guests with loading and unloading their vehicles, reinforcing the customer-centered focus of the position. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work full time including weekends
- Basic knowledge of traffic laws and parking regulations
- Physical capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods
- Reliable and punctual
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage and motivate a team
- Experience with handling cash and financial reconciliation preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in valet services or related customer service role preferred
- Leadership or supervisory experience a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a team effectively
- Basic understanding of traffic laws and parking operations
- Customer-oriented with problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle cash and reconcile payments accurately
Job Duties
- Coordinate traffic flow
- Communicate valet procedure, information and directions clearly and effectively with guests
- Understand and respond appropriately to basic customer and team member inquiries
- Monitor illegal parking, and immediately store vehicles
- Interact with guests in a friendly manner
- Assist guests with loading and unloading
- Collect and secure guest keys
- Predict and communicate traffic flow peaks and lot issues
- Identify and arrange for extra support for extended wait times
- Accurately tally and split the tip pool
- Receive and receipt a variety of valet payments
- Accurately reconcile and report daily revenue
- Project currency and coin requirements and re-order as necessary
- Operate, park and retrieve all vehicles in a safe manner by obeying all traffic laws, facility policies, and applicable pedestrian regulations
- Work in an outdoor unprotected environment in all climates for extended periods of time
- Keep work area clean of debris
