Towne Park is seeking to hire a Valet Driver at Mercy Hospital South. This role is an exciting entry-level opportunity with a starting pay of $14 per hour plus additional tips ranging from $3 to $5 per hour. The position does not require prior experience and offers a stable work schedule from Monday through Friday between 8 am and 6 pm, with no night or weekend shifts. Employees in this role are also eligible to enroll in various benefits, including medical, dental, vision insurance, as well as accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity insurance, telemedicine benefits, and participation in a 401(k) retirement savings plan, based on eligibility.

The Valet Driver’s primary responsibility is to provide outstanding hospitality services to guests by safely parking and retrieving vehicles promptly while maintaining courteous and friendly interactions. This position also involves assisting guests with luggage, providing directions and information about the facility and local attractions, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere. Employees are trained to use proper phone etiquette, maintain professionalism, and ensure vehicle safety by documenting all ticket and key information accurately. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions, lifting and moving luggage and sometimes exerting physical effort up to 100 pounds. A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a vehicle, preferably with manual transmission and parallel parking skills, are necessary. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license for the state or commutable area
  • One month related experience or equivalent education
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to comprehend instructions
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Able to communicate effectively
  • Ability to operate vehicle safely
  • Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Availability Monday through Friday between 8am and 6pm
  • Reliable and professional demeanor
  • Ability to follow operational procedures and departmental guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state you are applying to work or within a commutable distance
  • One month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend standard English
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
  • Ability to perform basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with 10’s and 100’s
  • Ability to understand 24 hour and military time
  • Ability to understand parking rates applicable to time passed
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission highly desirable
  • Perform parallel parking skills

Job Duties

  • Maintain pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, co-workers, and clients
  • Acknowledge and greet guests within five feet with a professional and friendly demeanor
  • Use guest last names during interactions
  • Park and retrieve vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously
  • Assist guests with bell services and luggage storage
  • Open all vehicle and hotel doors for guests
  • Assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations and other inquiries
  • Provide guests with information about outlets, meeting rooms and amenities of the facility and local attractions
  • Deliver messages, items and guest amenities as requested
  • Shuttle guests to approved locations
  • Explain parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests
  • Issue claim checks after receiving vehicle keys and collect claim checks prior to issuing keys
  • Complete and maintain all ticket information including key tag, guest folio, vehicle location, damage survey and claim check receipt
  • Calculate and collect revenue for vehicles when needed
