Job Description
Henry Ford Hospital - Detroit Main Campus is a leading medical center renowned for its comprehensive healthcare services and commitment to patient care and innovation. As part of Henry Ford Health, which is one of the nation’s most respected academic medical centers, the hospital offers a wide range of medical services from primary and preventative care to complex specialty treatments. Located in Detroit, this facility is a key component of Henry Ford Health’s efforts in improving health outcomes locally and globally. The organization is dedicated to advancing the future of health through significant investments, cutting-edge research, and a strong network of hospitals and outpatient centers. The hospital fosters a culture of professionalism, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring a supportive work environment for its employees. Employment at Henry Ford Hospital offers team members an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to community health and benefit from a comprehensive Total Rewards program supporting physical, emotional, social, financial, and spiritual well-being. The hospital values equal employment opportunity and strives to promote fair treatment for all individuals across many protected characteristics.
The Parking Valet position at Henry Ford Hospital plays an essential role in hospital operations by assisting with the transportation of patient and visitor vehicles between the hospital entrance and designated valet parking areas. This role requires individuals to work under direct supervision, ensuring a smooth flow of traffic and providing excellent service to visitors upon arrival at the hospital. The valet attendant is responsible for safely driving vehicles, often needing to operate manual transmissions, and must demonstrate excellent visual acuity and spatial perception to navigate busy parking areas and entrances. Being the first point of contact for many visitors, the valet must maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance at all times to reflect the hospital’s commitment to customer service excellence.
This role is a day-shift position, not associated with union code, and offers a work environment that is both dynamic and rewarding. Henry Ford Hospital supports employee development through clear guidance and supervision, with an understanding that employees may be called upon to perform additional related duties as required. The opportunity allows for growth within the hospital setting, catering to individuals who value teamwork, responsibility, and a commitment to supporting healthcare operations.
