The Valet role at ABM is an entry-level position ideal for those new to the workforce or individuals returning to work with limited prior experience or formal education. This job offers a great opportunity to develop professional skills in customer service, vehicle handling, and communication within a well-established and supportive corporate environment. Valets act as the face of ABM to guests, providing courteous and compassionate service that enhances the overall guest experience.
Responsibilities include managing vehicle parking logistics safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and facility policies, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Valets will interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, assisting with vehicle loading and unloading, and effectively communicating valet procedures and directions. They will also handle various administrative duties such as collecting and securing guest keys, managing valet payments, reconciling daily revenue, and accurately forecasting cash needs.
This position requires the ability to operate both standard and automatic transmission vehicles and coordinate traffic flow to minimize wait times and optimize service efficiency. Working outdoors in various weather conditions is a standard aspect of this role. As part of a dedicated team, valets contribute to maintaining a positive, safe, and welcoming environment for guests at ABM’s service locations.

Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to operate both standard and automatic transmissions
- Ability to coordinate traffic flow
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with guests
- Ability to monitor and respond to illegal parking
- Capability to manage keys securely
- Physical ability to assist with loading and unloading
- Competency in handling valet payments and daily revenue reconciliation
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Capability to keep work area clean
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous customer service experience a plus
- Ability to operate both standard and automatic transmission vehicles
- Basic math skills for cash handling and reconciling payments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Military or security experience is an asset
- Familiarity with valet operations and policies advantageous
Job Duties
- Coordinate traffic flow
- Communicate valet procedure, information and directions clearly and effectively with guests
- Understand and respond appropriately to basic customer and team member inquiries
- Monitor illegal parking and immediately store vehicles
- Interact with guests in a friendly manner
- Assist guests with loading and unloading
- Collect and secure guest keys
- Predict and communicate traffic flow peaks and lot issues
- Identify and arrange for extra support for extended wait times
- Accurately tally and split the tip pool
- Receive and receipt a variety of valet payments
- Accurately reconcile and report daily revenue
- Project currency and coin requirements and reorder as necessary
- Operate, park and retrieve all vehicles in a safe manner by obeying all traffic laws, facility policies, and applicable pedestrian regulations
- Work in an outdoor unprotected environment in all climates for extended periods of time
- Keep work area clean of debris
