Job Description

The Stella Hotel is currently seeking an energetic and enthusiastic valet/bellstaff to join their team. This position is crucial as it involves being the first face that guests encounter upon arrival, setting the tone for their entire stay. The ideal candidate embodies a warm and welcoming demeanor, effectively demonstrating the best in Southern hospitality. In this role, the valet/bellstaff will be responsible for assisting guests in a variety of ways including handling baggage, opening doors, parking and retrieving automobiles safely, and providing clear, helpful information about hotel services and local attractions.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in guest services or hospitality roles preferred
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • good physical condition to handle baggage and stand for extended periods
  • valid driver’s license
  • dependable and punctual
  • enthusiasm for guest interaction and Southern hospitality

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in hotel guest services or valet/bellstaff role preferred
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to operate automobiles safely
  • demonstrating hospitality and customer service skills
  • positive attitude and professional appearance

Job Duties

  • Enthusiastically welcomes guests upon arrival with a warm and friendly demeanor
  • assists guests with baggage handling
  • helps guests in and out of automobiles
  • opens lobby doors for guests
  • parks and retrieves automobiles for guests promptly and safely
  • listens and responds to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice
  • answers questions and offers assistance with accurate information regarding directions, hotel services and local attractions
  • issues and collects automobile claim tickets
  • maintains clean and safe entrances and parking lots
  • follows applicable standard operating procedures
  • assists guests to their rooms with their belongings
