Job Requirements

  • Must have a valid Texas driver's license
  • must have a clear driving record for the previous 36 months
  • must be physically capable of handling guest luggage
  • basic knowledge of the property and local area is helpful
  • excellent communication skills in English
  • ability to handle varying schedules
  • willingness to interact positively with guests and team members
  • visual observation skills
  • positive and calm demeanor

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Texas driver's license
  • clear driving record for the previous 36 months
  • physically capable of handling the weight of guest luggage
  • familiarity with the property and the San Jose area is helpful
  • excellent verbal communication skills
  • aptitude for guest service
  • ability to work with constant schedule changes
  • ability to read, write and speak English
  • knowledge of foreign language is a plus
  • ability to interact with guests and associates
  • visual observation skills required
  • cheerful and positive attitude
  • ability to work well with others and remain calm under pressure

Job Duties

  • Parks and controls the flow of cars through the hotel
  • acknowledge every car that drives through the hotel
  • open all doors for guests
  • greet arriving and departing guests
  • follow all procedures for parking a vehicle in hotel valet lot
  • assess vehicle for damage and contents upon parking
  • accurately fill out valet parking ticket
  • maintain a key log and organized key storage system
  • assist guests with directions and information of the hotel and surrounding areas
  • direct guests to daily functions within hotel
  • continuously maintain safety and proper care of guest vehicles
  • maintain accurate financial record of day park revenue on a daily basis
  • complete errands as requested by Valencia Services and other Hotel Valencia departments
  • interact with guests as needed to ensure optimum guest service
  • serve as alternate or additional bellman or doorman when required
  • escort incoming hotel guests to rooms
  • assist with transportation and handling of luggage
  • offer information pertaining to available services and facilities of hotel, points of interest, directions, and dining options
  • explain hotel amenities and features of room, such as operation of radio, television, climate control, and how to place telephone calls
  • inspect guest's room to ensure furnishings are in order and supplies are adequate upon guest escort
  • deliver packages, luggage, and other guest belongings
  • deliver fax messages, emails, laundry, and runs errands
  • call taxis for guests
  • maintain regular attendance in compliance with Hotel Valencia standards
  • maintain high standards of personal appearance, demeanor, and grooming
  • comply at all times with Hotel Valencia standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  • perform other job-related duties as directed
