The Edgewater Hotel is a historic and iconic hotel located in Seattle, Washington, with a unique location on Elliott Bay providing stunning views of the Olympic Mountains and the city skyline. Originally built for the 1962 World's Fair, The Edgewater has become a beloved landmark, famous for hosting legendary musicians like The Beatles and Blondie. The hotel offers an authentic Pacific Northwest experience, featuring aluminum exteriors, natural wood interiors, and cozy river-rock fireplaces that create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Known for its distinctive cultural vibe and emphasis on individuality and team spirit, The Edgewater Hotel is part of the Noble House Hotels & Resorts family, which stresses the importance of location, distinction, and soul in its properties and employees. The hotel's culture encourages associates to bring their personalities to work and values having fun, which is reflected in its corporate core values.
The Edgewater Hotel is currently seeking a Valet Attendant to join their Guest Services team. This seasonal position is anticipated to run from May 1 through September 30, offering a competitive pay rate of $21.30 per hour plus tips. The role involves ensuring warm, friendly, and efficient service for guests during their arrival, departure, and throughout their stay. Primary responsibilities include providing bell and shuttle services, with additional assistance in valet duties when necessary. The Valet Attendant acts as a critical first and last point of contact for guests, requiring excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication, and a thorough knowledge of Seattle's area and hotel amenities. Flexibility is essential, as shifts include day and evening hours and require weekend availability.
This position offers an exceptional opportunity for individuals who appreciate hospitality and enjoy working in a customer-focused environment. The Edgewater Hotel fosters a unique team culture where individual distinction is respected and collective teamwork is celebrated. Employees benefit from a range of attractive perks and competitive wages, including a $50 insurance package for medical, dental, and vision coverage; a retirement plan; paid time off for holidays, personal days, vacation, and sick leave; valet parking discounts; uniform with complimentary dry cleaning; complimentary meals during paid breaks; bus pass reimbursement covering 50% of transportation costs; and travel discounts on hotels and restaurants across the country. The hotel also emphasizes recognition programs with gift cards, incentives, and career growth opportunities, making it a rewarding place to work.
The Valet Attendant position at The Edgewater Hotel is ideal for those who take pride in detailed-oriented work and uphold a professional demeanor. The successful candidate will have a solid driving record and valid license and be capable of standing for long periods and operating both manual and automatic vehicles. Experience as a bell attendant or in a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory, as the hotel values the right attitude and willingness to learn. Working both indoors and outdoors in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, this role requires a flexible team player who is eager to contribute to an outstanding guest experience at one of Seattle's most famous hotels.
