Job Description
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is a renowned boutique hotel brand known for its warm hospitality, distinctive personality, and commitment to creating meaningful human connections. Founded in 1981 in San Francisco by Bill Kimpton, the company revolutionized the hospitality industry by rejecting impersonal service standards and fostering an environment where guests and employees alike can connect genuinely and authentically. Kimpton embraces a culture where diversity, creativity, and individuality are celebrated, creating an exciting and empowering workplace where employees are encouraged to express their true selves and lead with passion. With a presence in multiple cities, Kimpton Hotels are celebrated for offering exceptional experiences marked by personalized service, unique design, and a commitment to enriching the communities they serve. This ethos extends beyond guest service to employees, who are valued and supported as essential contributors to the success and soul of the brand.
The Valet Attendant role at Kimpton Hotels offers an exceptional opportunity to be at the forefront of guest hospitality, providing a memorable first and last impression that sets the tone for a guest’s entire stay. This position is vital in delivering Kimpton's hallmark of heartfelt service, ensuring that every guest interaction is professional, warm, and attentive. The Valet Attendant is responsible for greeting guests upon arrival, assisting with luggage, arranging transportation, and offering timely, friendly, and informative communication based on the core Five Hospitality Standards: maintaining eye contact, smiling, speaking first, engaging in polite conversation, and using the guest’s surname. This position emphasizes not only functional duties such as handling and safeguarding guest belongings but also highlights the importance of a genuine, personal connection with guests to create a welcoming atmosphere that invites repeat visits and positive reviews.
In this role, you will be a key ambassador for the hotel, acting as the face and first point of contact for guests. You’ll provide helpful local insights about dining, entertainment, and events, ensuring guests enjoy everything the hotel’s surroundings have to offer. Additionally, the role requires multitasking abilities as you may be called upon to support other hotel operations beyond valet services. The position demands a professional appearance, a friendly demeanor, and the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, accommodating the dynamic schedule of a hospitality environment. Overall, this role is well-suited for individuals with a passion for customer service, a clean driving record, and a desire to contribute to an inclusive, vibrant team dedicated to making each guest’s experience truly unique and memorable.
