The role of the Valet Attendant at Encore Boston Harbor is crucial in delivering an exceptional guest experience from the moment they arrive to the moment they depart. This part-time position involves managing the ingress and egress of vehicles with the utmost care and professionalism, ensuring a seamless and efficient valet service that aligns with the Encore standards. Job Requirements
- 21 years of age or above
- will be required to obtain and maintain registration or a license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission
- must have a Massachusetts driver’s license
- high school degree or equivalent preferred
- culinary arts, hospitality or a related education or experience preferred
- minimum 3 years of experience preferred
- knowledge of Microsoft Office a plus
- outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills as well as excellent attention to detail
- ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents
- ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests
- conversational English required, second language a plus
- ability to write instructions
- ability to present information
- ability to compute basic mathematical calculations
- ability to decipher various reports and maintain reports upon request
- able to talk and hear regularly
- regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
- regularly required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, stretch, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- vision abilities include close sight, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- able to lift or maneuver at least fifty pounds
- able to work varying schedules to reflect business needs of the property
- able to work outside and be subject to all weather conditions
- able to work around electrically or mechanically energized equipment
- expected to work in elevated places with proper precautions and personal protective equipment
- able to interact with internal and external guests professionally in loud and moderate noise environments
Job Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent preferred
- minimum 3 years of experience in valet or related service positions preferred
- valid Massachusetts driver’s license
- ability to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles
- knowledge of company safety and cash handling procedures
- strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- excellent attention to detail
- effective communication skills in English, conversational level required, additional language a plus
- basic mathematical skills for handling cash and reports
- ability to understand and apply departmental policies and procedures
- demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure
- commitment to safety and quality service
- flexibility to work varied schedules as required by the hospitality industry
Job Duties
- Ensures all Encore Boston Harbor core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied
- participates in short-and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
- monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness
- effects changes required for improvement
- identifies key drivers of success
- actively contributes to departmental performance, and the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental policies and procedures
- records and reports
- follows that all applicable internal policies, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and property-wide controls are enforced within the department
- delivers and maintains a maximum level of property-wide service and satisfaction
- contributes to company-wide communication and best practices
- keeps informed of all new developments within the department
- balances multiple priorities simultaneously and meets deadlines, often in stressful and high-pressure situations
- follow all company security and validation procedures to ensure only authorized individuals or owners can access vehicles
- follow the ingress and egress processes designed for the property
- operate and park both automatic and stick shift vehicles
- follow all cash handling procedures
- works with safety as a priority, and follows department and company safety standards
- maintains relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training
- performs any other job-related duties as assigned
