The Valet Attendant role at Inn on Biltmore Estate is a full-time position requiring availability for 32 or more hours weekly, with shifts generally spanning from 7 am to 3 pm or 3 pm to 11 pm, Wednesday through Sunday. This role is fundamental in shaping the guest experience from the moment they arrive until their departure by providing seamless, attentive service related to vehicle parking and retrieval. Valet Attendants are responsible not only for handling vehicles safely but also for maintaining high service standards that reflect the Inn’s reputation. In addition to managing guest vehicles, valets offer general assistance to the department and leadership and help maintain the aesthetic and functional condition of the front entrance and parking areas. Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds or more on a regular basis
- Be able to park and retrieve vehicles from valet parking in a timely manner
- Ability to operate standard transmission vehicles
- Have full manual dexterity and be able to walk and stand for extended periods
- Ability to work outside in all types of weather with fluctuations in temperatures and conditions
Job Qualifications
- Prior guest service experience strongly preferred
- Prior experience in a hotel/resort setting or as a valet
- Commitment to delivering world class guest service
- Ability to operate both automatic and standard transmission vehicles
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and problem solve quickly in a guest service setting
- Ability to exercise good judgment and take initiative
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective communication using standard written and spoken English
- Fluency or working knowledge in other languages beneficial
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic guest-service environment
- Valid driver’s license
- At least 18 years of age or older
- Clean and points-free driving record for at least the past two years
Job Duties
- Greet guests arriving at the Inn on Biltmore Estate in accordance with training and service standards
- Assist with parking and retrieving guest vehicles
- Maintain the front entrance areas of the inn
- Maintain the valet parking areas and the pathways to/from
- Keep guest vehicles windshields clear of dirt/grime/ice
- Safely operate guest vehicles as essential job duty
- Ensure that guests maintain feeling of enchantment during arrival/departure process
- Help serve and assist guests whenever possible
- Conduct security checks of vehicles under valet care as needed
