The Valet position at Discovery Land Company serves as the pivotal first and last point of contact for members and guests, establishing a welcoming and positive environment. This role is essential in crafting memorable experiences and providing seamless service that aligns with the company’s renowned hospitality standards. The valet is entrusted with the responsibility of parking and retrieving vehicles safely and efficiently while also operating transit vans to transport guests on and offsite as needed. Beyond vehicle handling, the valet plays a crucial role in assisting members with baggage, providing directions, and ensuring overall convenience and comfort during their visit.

Valets at Discovery Land Company are expected to maintain high service standards, demonstrating professionalism and attentiveness at all times. They ensure cleanliness and order in parking and transportation areas and conduct basic vehicle maintenance checks such as tire condition, oil, fuel, and safety equipment inspections to guarantee safety and reliability. Valets also document operational activities, including passenger trips and fuel usage, supporting smooth internal logistics and compliance with safety standards.

This position demands flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the dynamic nature of a luxury hospitality environment. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to stay calm and effective during busy periods. The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift heavy items outdoors and indoors regardless of weather conditions. Job Requirements

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license or international equivalent
  • high school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • at least six (6) months of guest-service experience in a high-volume environment at a restaurant, resort, or private club
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to meet physical demands including working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and lifting items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds
  • positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work in a team environment
  • ability to stay calm and focused during busy times

Job Qualifications

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license or international equivalent
  • high school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • at least six (6) months of guest-service experience in a high-volume environment at a restaurant, resort, or private club
  • prior valet attendant experience in luxury club or private resort setting preferred
  • proficient in proper and safe driving of vehicles
  • driving record that meets the club’s insurance requirements
  • able to sit and/or stand for extended periods and use vision, hearing, and hands/arms to drive multi-passenger vehicles
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • additional languages preferred
  • ability to meet physical demands including working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and lifting items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds

Job Duties

  • Provide exceptional service and communication at all times with members, guests, and team members
  • meet and greet all arriving/departing members and guests in a timely manner
  • park and retrieve member, guest and customer vehicles or golf carts in specified areas in an efficient and safe manner
  • perform drive and park assignments per department policies/procedures
  • keep parking areas clean and orderly
  • provide member assistance and information, such as giving directions, handling baggage, assisting with wheelchairs loading and unloading
  • ensure that members and guests belongings are retrieved and delivered to the proper outlet
  • maintain clean transportation shuttles and company vehicles including basic car wash, wiping interiors, and brief vacuuming
  • check condition of transport vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment
  • provide deliveries/pickups as needed, and run other errands
  • prepare and submit reports that include number of passenger trips, ridership, hours worked, mileage, and fuel consumption
  • comply with local and public traffic laws and highway safety rules in operating vehicles
  • follow written and verbal geographical directions
  • any additional duties as assigned
