Job Description

Our hotel is currently seeking a dependable and guest-focused Valet Attendant to join our Valet Services team. This part-time role is essential to providing professional parking and vehicle retrieval services with utmost care, safety, and efficiency. Candidates must be available for flexible hours between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, with shift extensions up to 1:00 AM on weekends and holidays. The ideal valet attendant will be polished, courteous, and thrive in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment, ensuring every interaction leaves a lasting positive impression.

As a Valet Attendant at The Jefferson Hotel, you will serve as the first point of contact for many guests, welcoming them warmly and assisting with their vehicles in a professional and efficient manner. Your responsibilities will include safely operating both automatic and manual transmission cars, including luxury vehicles, recording guest and vehicle information accurately, and maintaining the valet area’s cleanliness and organization. A commitment to safety and discretion when handling guest property and keys is paramount, as is punctuality and consistent attendance.

This position demands professionalism and a neat, well-groomed appearance at all times. The role requires physical stamina as attendants must stand and walk for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Prior customer service experience is strongly preferred, particularly within hospitality. The right candidate will possess strong communication skills, remain calm under pressure during busy arrival and departure periods, and demonstrate a natural ability to engage guests with attentiveness and courtesy.

Job Requirements

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM with shifts extending as late as 1:00 AM on weekends including holidays
  • valid Virginia driver’s license required with an excellent driving record (0 points only)
  • ability to safely operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles including luxury models
  • must maintain a neat well-groomed appearance at all times
  • punctual reliable and committed to consistent attendance

Job Qualifications

  • Previous customer service experience strongly preferred
  • hospitality experience a plus

Job Duties

  • Welcome guests warmly and professionally upon arrival
  • safely park and retrieve guest vehicles in a timely manner
  • assist with opening doors and light luggage support as needed
  • record vehicle and guest information accurately and conduct visual inspections for pre-existing damage
  • handle keys and guest property with discretion and care
  • maintain organization and cleanliness of the valet area
  • follow all safety protocols and report incidents immediately
  • support overall traffic flow and team operations to ensure a seamless arrival experience
