The role of a Valet Attendant within UC San Diego Health's Security - Parking & Transportation Department is a vital position that ensures smooth and efficient parking services for patients, visitors, and staff. This career appointment is full-time at 100% schedule, with a competitive hourly wage of $25.00. The Valet Attendant will be stationed primarily at Jacobs Medical Center and may be required to work in various shifts during daytime hours, with an 8-hour variable schedule. This position is union represented under SX Contract with two openings available.

As a Valet Attendant, your core responsibility is to provide exceptional customer service while managing vehicle parking operations. This includes safely driving and parking vehicles for guests, inspecting and documenting any pre-existing vehicle damage, issuing ticket receipts, efficiently retrieving vehicles upon guest requests, and responsibly handling cash transactions. The role also involves organizing and tagging vehicle keys to maintain proper security and inventory control. This position demands a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and willingness to work at multiple locations within the UC San Diego Health system, primarily in La Jolla and Hillcrest.

Applicants must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record compliant with local policies and participate in the California Employer Pull Notice Program. Experience driving automatic and manual transmission vehicles is essential. Being able to navigate a fast-paced environment while maintaining exemplary customer service standards is critical to success in this role.
