The Valet position at ABM offers an entry-level opportunity for individuals entering or returning to the workforce. The role involves coordinating traffic flow efficiently and communicating valet procedures and directions in a clear and courteous manner. Valets are expected to interact with guests positively, assisting them with loading and unloading vehicles and managing vehicle keys securely. Responsibilities include monitoring parking compliance, especially illegal parking, and ensuring vehicles are stored safely and in compliance with facility policies. This role requires the ability to predict and communicate peak traffic times and parking lot issues to effectively manage workflow and customer expectations.
Valets handle various transactions including collecting, securing keys, receiving and issuing valet payments, accurately reconciling daily revenue, and managing tip pooling. Safety is paramount, and valets must demonstrate proficiency in operating vehicles with both standard and automatic transmissions, obeying all traffic laws and pedestrian regulations. This role demands working outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods and maintaining cleanliness in designated work areas.
