Job Description
Torchy's Tacos is a renowned restaurant chain that originated in Austin, Texas, in 2006. Starting with a simple food trailer and a dedicated executive chef, the brand has grown into a nationwide presence, famous for its innovative and flavorful tacos. Torchy's commitment to providing high-quality food and an exceptional dining experience has made it a beloved spot for taco enthusiasts across the country. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and passion for great food, Torchy's offers more than just meals, but a sense of community and fun that resonates with guests and employees alike.
The role of Utility Team Member at Torchy's Tacos is crucial in maintaining the high standards that the restaurant is known for. This position combines the responsibilities of both busser and dishwasher, requiring individuals who are hardworking, detail-oriented, and dedicated to supporting the smooth operations of the restaurant. As a Utility Team Member, you will be responsible for ensuring that all areas of the establishment are clean, safe, and inviting for guests and staff. This role demands attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to help keep the kitchen and dining areas in excellent condition.
The responsibilities in this role are diverse and engaging, including tasks such as sweeping and mopping dining rooms and bathrooms, cleaning spills quickly for guest safety, pre-bussing tables, and maintaining exterior cleanliness like picking up trash in the parking lot. In addition, Utility Team Members keep beverage stations stocked and clean, manage trash and recycling, and ensure bathrooms are clean before opening and throughout the day. From setting up sanitizer buckets to cleaning table bases and chair legs, the role requires consistent follow-through on daily cleaning lists and a commitment to excellence.
On the dishwasher side, duties extend to sanitizing all food preparation and service items, maintaining proper chemical dilution in sinks, organizing the kitchen storage areas like the walk-in, and assisting with prep or line duties when needed. Prioritizing the cleaning of commonly used dishes ensures that kitchen operations flow seamlessly, and managing incoming orders and back-of-house trash keeps the workplace organized and efficient. This hybrid position is perfect for individuals who enjoy multitasking and being an integral part of a team that values hard work and dedication.
Torchy's offers competitive pay ranging from $11.00 to $14.00 per hour based on experience, including tip share on top of the hourly wage. The company promotes a flexible work schedule to accommodate team members' varying needs, and employees receive a discount card for themselves and their spouses to enjoy the restaurant's delicious food. Full-time team members gain access to comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance after one year, and a 401(k) plan after six months of employment. Additionally, paid time off is provided after one year of service. Torchy's Family Foundation is a unique support system that helps team members in times of personal hardship, further emphasizing the company's commitment to its employees. This role is not just a job but a chance to be part of a growing family and a vibrant, fast-paced restaurant culture.
