Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Physical capability to perform cleaning, washing, and light mechanical tasks
- Safety awareness and ability to follow OSHA guidelines
- Ability to work at either North Base in South San Francisco or South Base in San Carlos
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in vehicle cleaning or maintenance preferred
- Ability to operate cleaning and maintenance equipment safely
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of safety procedures and compliance with OSHA regulations
- Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Physical ability to perform strenuous activities and stand for extended periods
Job Duties
- Perform cleaning and washing of exterior, undercarriage, and interior buses
- Perform fueling and check fluid levels such as coolant, engine and transmission oil before transit vehicles go into service
- Safely drive and park buses and other district vehicles on and off operating bases
- Inspect district vehicles during servicing and report defects and damages to Mechanic or Supervisor
- Assist mechanics with minor repairs and adjustments for heavy-duty diesel vehicles
- Sweep, mop floors and vacuum seats and upholstery using cleaning equipment
- Dust and wash windows, mirrors, interior glass, window casing and tracks, blinds, ledges and overhead compartments
- Clean areas other than vehicles including maintenance facilities
- Follow company policy and OSHA safety regulations
- Properly clean and maintain equipment and work areas
- Document service information in vehicle service records
- Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect oneself, fellow employees, district property, and the public from injury or harm
- Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents
- Perform other duties as assigned
