With a focus on diversity, inclusion, and respect for all individuals, Sodexo fosters an environment where employees are valued and supported, enabling them to thrive both personally and professionally.

The Utility Worker position at Sodexo, stationed at Our Lady of the Lake, offers a full-time opportunity with a competitive hourly pay rate of $14.50. As a Utility Worker, you play an essential role in supporting the kitchen and facility operations by ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout food production and service areas. This role is vital in maintaining the high standards of hygiene and operational efficiency expected in the food service industry.

Responsibilities of the Utility Worker include comprehensive cleaning tasks such as washing dishes by hand or using dishwashing machines, sanitizing worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks, and maintaining floors by sweeping, mopping, cleaning, and vacuuming. The role also involves removing trash and garbage to designated areas and ensuring that equipment is cleaned with appropriate chemicals to meet sanitary standards. The Utility Worker is expected to restock supplies including soap, paper towels, and cleaning materials to keep operations running smoothly. Beyond cleaning, the position requires physical endurance to walk or stand for extended periods, potentially exceeding eight hours during a shift, and the ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

The work schedule for this role includes varying shifts and days, with open availability preferred to meet the dynamic needs of the facility. Sodexo provides its employees a flexible and supportive work environment, emphasizing the importance of work-life balance so that staff can be present for life's important moments. Sodexo also offers ongoing training and career advancement opportunities, enabling employees to grow their skills and build long-term careers within the company.

Additional benefits for this role include a full array of health-related plans such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holidays, tuition reimbursement, 401k retirement savings plan, discount programs, and potential site-specific perks like free meals, uniforms, safety shoes, and transportation assistance. Sodexo values transparency and strives to provide detailed descriptions of both job duties and benefits during the hiring process, encouraging candidates to ask questions regarding the benefits offered based on the work location.

Overall, Sodexo is committed to creating a better everyday for everyone by enhancing the quality of life for its employees and the communities it serves. Working as a Utility Worker not only provides the chance to contribute meaningfully in a fast-paced, essential service role but also to be part of a global organization that cares about respect, inclusion, and equal opportunity for all. Sodexo champions a culture where your ideas count, your opinions are heard, and you are encouraged to be yourself—because a happy employee makes a stronger team and better service for all.
